The Natural Park of the Serra de Montsant was the first space in Catalonia to receive, in 2019, the double certification of light and acoustic quality protection from the Department of Territory and Sustainability of the Generalitat.
Mas Ardèvol, we were the first accommodation in the Priorat to obtain StarLight certification. In our house, a small farmhouse, converted into rural accommodation, you will find an unbeatable space to enjoy a quiet stay, in the middle of vineyards and hazelnut groves, where, in addition, you will savor a careful cuisine prepared with products from kilometer zero, so close that most come from our own garden.
A few kilometers from Mas Ardèvol, in the town of Prades is the Prades Mountains Astronomical Park. With them you will discover the magic of the night sky!
KOSMOS is an astronomy show, a tribute to Carl Sagan’s legendary Cosmos series. A unique immersive experience in Catalonia that will transport us to the far reaches of the universe to return to the dark sky of Prades, where we will observe with large diameter telescopes and let ourselves be guided by its sky and the mythological stories that are hidden there.
Designed for young and adult audiences, this show offers us a tour of the universe and is made up of two parts separated by a break:
The first part, inside the Hypatia Room, is a journey into the deep universe. We will do it inside our ship, surrounded by atmospheres of sound, light and images that will make us relive key moments in the history of astronomy. We will talk about current scientific events in a fresh and fun format. Inside the 360 Planetarium we will enjoy the most spectacular productions and simulations of the universe commented live by our Starlight Guides.
The second part, when it is already dark, will be done from the Astronomical Observatory of Sant Roc and is about a discovery of the dark sky of Prades with observation with large-diameter telescopes and a commented and guided tour with a green laser through the constellations and its mythology. All designed for young and adult audiences. We do it from the Astronomical Observatory of Sant Roc in an environment of great beauty, lying on comfortable sunbeds for a 360º view of the sky.
And you can’t leave the area without tasting some of the great wines that are made there. That is why you will visit Sangenís i Vaqué, a small family winery in the heart of Porrera.
